The first step was I had to remind the perfectionist in me to treat each arrangement independently from the others in terms of shape and design. Every flower is different in color and size so avoid thinking every display has to look the same and setting yourself up for frustration.
1. Chose similarly themed or structured vases. Cut foam to size.
Tip: If you go to a store and don’t see the flower or color you want talk to someone who would know if what you are looking for is in backstock. Neither the foam bricks nor the leaves were displayed where I went to get supplies, but they were available.
Tip: Establish a sense of cohesion with a color story. If possible find a flower or filler that has two colors of the scheme in order to blend the appearance.
5. Fill in the holes with the smallest stems.
Tip: Be tame with your scissors, once you’ve cut a stem down there is no going back.
